Current title & company: Director of Internal Audit at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island
Brief description of who you are professionally with concise accomplishments: I am a Certified Public Accountant currently leading the internal audit department at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, a not-for-profit health maintenance organization. I am also a board member and the current treasurer of Sojourner House, an organization that provides safe shelter, housing and other supportive services to victims of domestic violence. Prior to my role at Neighborhood, I was an audit director at the CPA firm Citrin Cooperman, where I worked with clients in the not-for-profit, healthcare, manufacturing and employee benefit plan industries. I hold a masters in Accounting and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. In 2020, I was named a “40 Under 40” young professional by Providence Business News.
Why did you join TWToday and what are you hoping to achieve? I joined TWToday after being invited to attend the Rhode Island kickoff event in 2023 by Renee Aloisio, one of TWToday’s Rhode Island Advisory Council members who was also one of my mentors during our shared time at Citrin Cooperman. Renee and I had worked together for many years leading the firm’s Women’s Initiative, and so I was excited to join her in connecting with a new cadre of professional women through TWToday. It’s been great to meet and learn from so many incredible women who I may not have otherwise crossed paths with. Over the last year, I also had the pleasure of joining TWToday’s Support Circle for Expecting and New Moms, which was perfect since I just welcomed my first child in September of 2025. Moving forward, I am hoping to continue being a part of TWToday, with a new focus on balancing my career with being a new mom.
One of your most proud professional moments and what are you most looking forward to professionally the next five years: In 2023, I made the decision to leave public accounting after being at my firm for over a decade and begin a new career in internal audit. During my first year in this new role, I implemented a new system and overhauled our internal audit methodology, which increased efficiency and effectiveness for not only our department but also for other stakeholders throughout the organization. Over the next five years, I am looking forward to growing the internal audit department and strengthening inter-departmental relationships across the organization.
What do you do in your “free” time? As a new mom to a five-month-old baby girl, free time is hard to come by but, when I’m not spending time with my husband and daughter, I enjoy reading, cooking, lifting weights, and mindfulness activities like yoga, meditation and sound baths.
Three core values: Integrity, intentionality and continuous improvement.
Fun fact: I am a huge fan of horror movies and have attended dozens of horror conventions over the years to meet over one hundred actors, actresses and filmmakers of the genre.
