Full name: Alicia Morse

Current title & company: Account Coordinator, Conventures, Inc.

Brief description of who you are professionally w/ concise accomplishments:

I am an event management professional with a proven ability to help coordinate and execute large and small events. I have a solid track record of managing events and functions within assigned budget, and exceeding attendance, sales and fundraising targets. A few of the clients I’ve had the opportunity to work with are National Grid, The Boston Foundation, the University of Massachusetts Boston and the United States Coast Guard.

Why did you join TWT and what are you hoping to achieve as a member of the organization?

I joined Tomorrow’s Women Today because I wanted to be part of an accomplished and supportive networking group of professional women. I was new to Boston and wanted to grow my network. I was keen on finding a mentor that could help me grow professionally and am very excited to begin that mentorship. I have been paired up with Erika Field, Chief Development Officer at Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and a Charter member of Tomorrows Women Today as my mentor. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to learn from her.

What is one of your most proud professional moments and what are you most looking forward to professionally in the next five years?

I was very proud to plan the Boston Marathon Tribute event in coordination with Governor Patrick, Mayor Walsh, One Fund Boston and the Boston Athletic Association to pay tribute to those that were affected by the tragic bombings of 2013. There was over 2,000 guests in attendance including Vice President Joe Biden.

I am looking forward to completing my Tomorrow’s Women Today mentorship and continuing to grow my network, bringing the Tall Ships back to Boston for Sail Boston 2017 and taking the steps to have my own event business.

What do you do in your “free” time? Hobbies, Interests….

In my free time I enjoy running along the Charles River Esplanade, yoga and most recently, golfing! I found that golf is a great hobby to start early on in life and always find that it relaxes me. I participated in the Tomorrows Women Today golf lessons this summer which was a lot of fun. I also ski so I’m hoping for a few good snow storms this winter.

3 Core Values (i.e. Loyalty, hard work, independence):

Honesty. To me, being honest is one of the most important things in life, whether it’s in business or your personal life. The first step to success is being honest with yourself.

Hard Work. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty 🙂

Gratitude. Always remember to be thankful for the people around you, the lessons you’ve learned and the things you have that others may not.

Fun Fact/What makes YOU, you?

Very few people know that I was born in Paris and moved to the U.S. when I was 4 years old.
